Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear for flying?
Wear comfortable casual clothes and flat shoes (trainers or walking shoes are ideal). On sunny days, bring sunglasses, suncream, and a sunhat or cap (glider canopies offer panoramic views!). In cooler months, bring warm layers as airfields can be breezy.
Can family and friends come along to watch?
Absolutely! Visitors and spectators are very welcome. We have a comfortable clubhouse with views over the airfield, outdoor picnic benches overlooking the launch point, and tea/coffee facilities.
What happens if the weather is unsuitable?
Gliding is weather-dependent. If high winds, low cloud, or persistent rain prevent safe flying, we will simply rebook your flight for another convenient date. Your voucher validity is paused if delayed by weather.
Can I continue learning after my trial flight?
Yes! Your voucher includes 3 months of temporary club membership. If you decide to continue training, your trial flights count directly towards your official British Gliding Association (BGA) pilot syllabus.
